64 Bit Vista Work Around

Note:

There are no reported problems with users running FinishLynx or ResulTV on Microsoft Vista Ultimate (32 Bit) operating system. To install on a Vista 64 bit OS please use these instructions.

VISTA Installation Procedure:

The instructions below will describe how to do the following:

Disable Wireless Card, Assign IP #, Disable firewall, Install USB to Serial Adapter
Run Lynx

Step 1. Access the Control Panel:

Step 2. Click Network and Internet:

Step 3. Choose Network and Sharing Center:

Step 4. Click Manage network connections on Left:

Step 5. Right click on your Wireless card and choose Disable:

Step 6. Right click on Local Area Connection and choose Properties:

Step 7. Double click on TCP/IPv4:

Step 8. Enter the IP # of 192.168.0.5 and Subnet 255.255.255.0 Then click OK:

Step 9. Disable the firewall. Enter the Control Panel:

Step 10. Click Security

Step 11. Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off:

Step 12. Turn the firewall to “Off” and click Apply:

Step 13. Adding the USB to Serial Adapter

Please plug the USB to Serial Adapter into the computer and put the drivers CD in the drive
Choose Locate and install driver software

Step 14. Click next:

Step 15. Click Install this driver software anyways:

Step 16. As you install keep an eye on the lower right hand side to see what Com port gets selected in this case it’s com 4:

Step 17. Boot FinishLynx and Click OK at the error message:

Step 18. Click File-Options and then click on Capture on Capture Button (Previous versions of Lynx look for a Hardware Tab)

Remember it said Com 4 in step 16. Here we choose Com 4

Then reboot Lynx and begin using your camera.

Step 19: You should now be able to click the Red stop sign and begin aligning your camera.

Solution - Copying The Program Directory onto your 64bit Vista Computer

Initially you will need to install the 32bit software onto a computer running a 32bit operating system.

To transfer the software to your 64 bit computer we suggest you copy the entire Lynx Directory onto a jump drive, and then from the jump drive paste the directory onto your 64bit Vista Computer. Instructions for doing this are below.

FinishLynx: Follow these steps:

Install the 32bit software onto a 32bit computer.
Copy the entire Lynx Directory onto a jump drive
Paste the entire Lynx Directory (from jump drive) onto the 64bit Vista computer placing the Lynx directory at the root of C: \ . [C:\lynx\]
To run FinishLynx, double click on Lynx.exe in the Lynx directory on your 64 bit version of Windows
Enter serial numbers if prompted to do so

ResulTV: Follow these steps:

*The ResulTV application is strongly recommended to be run under a windows 32 bit version of Windows

If installing on a 64bit version of windows:

Install the 32bit software onto a 32bit computer.
Copy the entire ResulTV Directory onto a jump drive
Paste the entire ResulTV Directory (from jump drive) onto the 64bit Vista computer
Run the Install.exe program (Found in the ResulTV folder) to install the Hardware Key Software
Run the add/new hardware wizard to detect USB Key
Point at the ResulTV directory to install driver
