FinishLynx made its official NASCAR
debut at the Daytona 500 in the spring of 2005.
To ensure total coverage of the Pit
Lane and the actual Finish Line, as well as the legal finish area between
them on the infield, two cameras were set up at the same location just
inside the pit lane facing outwards towards the Stands. By using different lenses to
adjust the field of view of the Primary and secondary cameras, it was
possible to obtain total coverage, and high resolution. See below for
sample images and camera details.
In addition, a third camera was mounted
at the exit to Pit Lane to confirm the order in which cars left the pits.
